Under the visionary leadership of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the year 2018 panned out into a golden year for Tibet and Tibetan people. The year ended on a victorious note with the enactment of the Reciprocal Access to Tibet Act by the US Government, which was undeniably the most celebrated news of 2018.
Also this year, Tibetan Buddhism, culture and traditional practices headlined to international acclaim. Tibetan Dzogchen master, Prof Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche (late) received the highest civilian honour of Italy; former Kalon of CTA, Ama Jetsun Pema was conferred the highest civilian honour for women by the President of India; and Dr Yeshi Dhonden, a Buddhist monk-physician and expert of Sowa Rigpa (Tibetan herbal medicine) was honoured the Padma Shri award.
Among others, Tibet.net also celebrates its ever-growing readership. The past year our readership rocketed to an unprecedented record of 9 million visits. We take this opportunity to extend our grateful thanks to all readers.
