Ms. Egawa Izumi, Director of NPO NyingTop Japan and a steadfast Tibet supporter in Japan visited the Department of Home, Central Tibetan Administration and met with Home Kalon Mr. Sonam Topgyal Khorlatsang on 5 June 2017. She was accompanied by her colleagues.
The five member delegation discussed on Agricultural activity in the Tibetan community and the future course of action in developing Agricultural practice in the Tibetan settlements. They shared their interest in imparting technical know-how in farming and overhaul the agricultural practice.
Home Kalon explained to them the background of Tibetan agricultural settlements in south India and other areas/ Kalon state that their proposal is in line with the Integrated Settlement Development Plan (ISDP) through which it aims to improve the agriculture product yields with innovative agricultural practice and thereby making settlements sustainable.
Kalon expressed his appreciation and thanked the delegation for the visit. Ms. Egawa Izumi and her organisation NPO NyingTop have been supporting the Tibetan children’s village and this time she expressed her interest in supporting the Tibetan agriculture activity.
The delegation visit to Department of Home was recommended by the Representative of His Holiness The Dalai Lama for Japan & East-Asia.
