Brief information about Sakya Tibetan Society and its Health Clinic
This settlement was established in the year 1969 mainly as an agro Industrial settlement with a total land allotment of 112 acres out of which 92 acres have been converted into agricultural land and remaining 20 acres have been used for housing to accommodate settlers. The settlement is managed by a society called the Sakaya Tibetan Society, registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860.

Agriculture is the main source of livelihood for the settlers. Besides agriculture, the settlement has a handicraft center which provides employment for the settlers to augment their meager income from land, many settlers go out of the settlement to do petty business during winter.
Health Clinic was founded in 1970 by the TIRS and later handed over to DoH Dharamasala. Recently, new staff quarter was built with funded by AISPO (an organisation from Italy).
The Health Clinic provides the basic health care services to the settlers as attending out patients, Mother and child health care, TB control by providing DOTs, Immunization programme, Home visit and ocassionally gives health education by giving talk, distrbuting phamlets and displaying posters and showing health education related video.
