Kalon Takla successfully ends Denmark visit, heads for Norway

Kalon Kesang Y Takla, Kalon for the Department of Information and International Relations of the Central Tibetan Administration successfully concluded Tuesday her two-day Denmark leg of Europe visit, and embarked on her next visit to Norway.
On Monday morning, 14 April, Kalon Takla met three members of the Danish parliamentary Foreign Policy Committee, former foreign minister Mr Mogens Lykketoft, now foreign affairs spokesperson for Social Democrats and vice chairman of the Foreign Policy Committee and Mr Jeppe Kofod of Social Democrats and Mr Kim Behnke of the Conservative Party.
During the meeting, she was asked questions on what Denmark support Tibet to limit the large influx of Chinese immigrants into Tibet.
After the meeting, she met two political secretaries of the Socialist People's Party (SF), including Mr Claus Perregaard, who was instrumental for inviting Mrs Takla to Denmark. Mr Perregarrd offered his suggestions to extend his support to the Central Tibetan Administration.
She gave an interview to the member magazine of SF and discussed the press coverage and future cooperation between SF and the Tibet Support Committee.
In the afternoon, she spoke to Politiken, one of the 3 biggest newspapers in Denmark, and then interacted with two independent television journalists, Bo Tengberg and Soren Hadsund Mortensen, who are preparing a documentary film on torture in Tibet.
On the same day, she met members of the Tibet Support Committee.
On Tuesday morning, Kalon Takla met with the assistant State Secretary Mr. Carsten Nilaus Pedersen at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She also met Lars Normann Jorgensen, director of the Danish Amnesty International chapter and Ms Hanne Pilegaard. Amnesty's head of campaign and policy.
Later in the day, she met with three officials of the Confederation of Danish Industries - the deputy director general Mr Thomas Bustrup, the head of their department on international policies and a China expert. She briefed them on the situation in Tibet and asked them to take up the issue of Tibet with their Chinese trading partners on any suitable occasion.
According to Tibet Support Committee in Denmark, "Kalon Takla has made a strong impression on people she has met here and has contributed very much to the general understanding of the situation in Tibet as well as to what Denmark and the Danish people can do to support the non-violent struggle of Tibet."
