Dharamshala: Exiled Tibetans and Tibet supporters all over the world observe the completion of one month of Chinese military crackdown on peaceful protesters in Tibet.

They will be holding candle light vigils, demonstration of mock funerals, mock arbitrary arrests, mock prison conditions, mock injured people without access to medical care in Tibet.

On 7 April, Tibetans and their supporters who participated in the rally, voluntarily shaved their heads to show their solidarity with the Tibetans in Tibet.

While addressing a large gathering of Tibetans yesterday in Dharamsala, Mr Karma Chophel, chair of the Tibetan Solidarity Committee said that during his recent visit to Brussels, Geneva and Italy he has appealed to the UN and the international community to:

1. Immediately dispatch an independent fact-finding delegation to Tibet,
2. Immediately end the brutal killings in the whole of Tibet,
3. Immediately release all arrested and imprisoned Tibetans,
4. Extend immediate medical assistance to the injured Tibetans,
5. Restore the Universal Fundamental Human Rights to the tibetans in Tibet.

He said that the European Parliament convened an extraordinary plenary session to discuss the present urgent situation in Tibet where members condemned the Chinese repression and called for restraint on the part of the Chinese police and military.

The European Parliament also decided to extend an invitation to His Holiness the Dalai Lama to speak in the House. Mr. Karma Chophel also appeared before the Foreign Affairs Committee for a hearing on the current situation in Tibet where it was resolved to invite the Chinese Foreign Minister for a similar purpose.

He urged the Tibetan people to remain alert to Chinese government's agents and miscreants, who are trying to sabotage unity and efforts by creating problems within the Tibetan community, between Tibetans and Chinese, and within our community.
