His Holiness the Dalai Lama Leaves for US, Latin America

Dharamsala 16 September: His Holiness the Dalai Lama left on a six-nation visit to the United States and Latin America this morning. His Holiness is scheduled to visit Florida, USA, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala and Mexico. His Holiness last visited Miami in 1999, when he received an honorary doctorate in divinity from Florida International University. During his visit from 19 to 22 of this month, His Holiness will give lectures at Florida International University and University of Miami as well as several teaching sessions hosted by the Osel Dorje Nyingpo.

His Holiness will visit Puerto Rico where His Holiness will give a talk on Universal Responsibility on the 24 September and teach the Eight Verses for Training the Mind on 25 September.

From 26 September His Holiness will be in Costa Rica for three days during which His Holiness is scheduled to speak at two public events. His Holiness will then head towards El Salvador where two lectures on Introduction to Buddhism and Outer Peace Through Inner Peace have been fixed on 29 September. On 2 October, His Holiness the Dalai Lama will be in Guatemala where His Holiness teach the Four Noble Truths and talk about The Power of Compassion.

The last leg of His Holiness’ tour to the Americas will be in Mexico where His Holiness will spend five days from 3 October teaching Seven Point Mind Training and conferring Avalokiteshwara Initiation.
