Dharamsala, 19 November 2003: The Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts is on its tour to the Tibetan settlements in the northeastern India. The cultural troupe of the only institution started and run by the exile Tibetan administration left Dharamsala in the end of October. Invited by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture of the Arunachal Pradesh Government, the troupe participated in the festival of ‘Buddha Mahotsav’ in Tawang from 29 October to 3 November. It performed the Lhamo Opera ‘Drowa Sangmo’.

The Tibetans in Bomdila thronged to watch the troupe perform cultural dances and songs from the roof of the world between 4 and 6 November. Cultural shows were also presented from 8 to 10 November in Tenzin Gang Tibetan settlement.

The troupe then moved to Darjeeling to take part in the first Carnival festival from 16 to 17 November. It also held shows in Kalimpong on 18 November.
