Department of Finance
- Department of Finance is one of the seven Departments of Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. It came into existence on 29th of May 1969.
The main aim & objectives of the Department is to raise revenue for the CTA in order to fulfil the very mission of keeping Tibetan identity alive.
Preparation of the Annual & Revised budget of CTA & presentation to the Parliament-in-Exile is no less important than the Fund raising.
- To advise on economic policies to the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) keeping in view the backdrop of basic principles of Middle path, non-violence, self-reliant, genuine livelihood & eco-friendly as advised by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, but heeding to the fact of prevailing trends and possible future trends in the market as it is evidently impossible to live in isolation both in political or economic affairs in this ever-globalizing world.
- In tune with the 12th Kashag's Economic policy, the Department is to strive for the success of achieving following program:
- Privatize all the businesses run by the department.
- Refund public deposits within specific timeframe.
- Surplus funds from the sale proceed of our business stakes to be parked in risk free investment preferably in government bonds and securities & to manage administration's expenditures by interest income from those investments.
