SARD,Department of Finance is pleased to invite final call for project proposals
from the regional Tibetan NGOs for the NED Mini Grants Award.
The objective of the NED Mini-Grant program is to support democracy and human rights consciousness among Tibetans and improve understanding and encourage women and youth in the decision-making and
development process of the Tibetan community in exile.
PROJECT ACTIVITIES:
The grant provides modest support in the form of seed money or one-time grants to Tibetan grassroots organizations and associations that are working to inform and educate their communities about democracy and human rights and other communal issues to increase participation in the political and development process in Tibetan community in exile.
Funding will only be provided for stand-alone projects. No money will be awarded for ongoing core costs. There is no restriction on the number of times an organization may receive an award. However, priority will be given to projects that seek to educate public on human rights & democracy and encourage women and youth's involvement in political & development processes of the Tibetan community in exile.
Each award will be at least Rs.21,500, but not more than Rs. 51,600.
No organization that currently receives a NED grant directly may receive an award from this project.
The regional offices must attach
a letter of recommendation from their concerned central offices. E.g. TYC
regional chapters must attach a letter of recommendation from TYC Central
executive office, Dharamsala and same for TWA chapters also. Others will need a
recommendation letter from their respective local assemblies. Those settlements
with no local assembly, the review committee will review and approve on project
basis.
Deadline for Submission:
The project proposals must reach SARD, Department of Finance, CTA, Dharamsala on or before 20th April 2008. The projects approved can be implemented from May 2008 to September 2008.
