DHARAMSHALA: The Department of Home, Central Tibetan Administration, held a brief opening ceremony for computer training yesterday at the old reception centre in McLeod Ganj. The training programme is an initiative of the Home department under the Youth Empowerment Support (YES) project.
The programme aims to provide basic and advance computer education to newly-arrived Tibetan youths and local Tibetans residing in Dharamshala.
Home Secretary Mr. Khorlatsang Sonam Topgyal inaugurated the centre and graced the programme. Mr.Chime Rinzin, Additional Secretary and Joint Secretary Mr. Palden Dhondup were also present.
About 45 Tibetan youths have enrolled in the computer training programme. The computer training program will begin from 11 February 2014. The computer classes would be conducted by Mr. Tenzin Chhophel, an MCA graduate from Dehradun Institute of Technology, Dehradun.
